Dare County’s total coronavirus case count reaches 25

Dare County has added two additional coronavirus cases this week for a total of 25 since testing began in March.

Of those cases, 19 have been Dare County residents and six non-residents. Among the residents who tested positive, 15 have recovered or have been asymptomatic, one has died and three remain active. Of the active cases, two are recovering at in home isolation and one is hospitalized, according to information released by Dare County Health and Human Services on Thursday.

Of the six cases among non-residents, four have recovered or have been asymptomatically cleared, one is recovering in isolation in Dare County and one is in home isolation in their home county.

Health officials have also released demographics for the current cases. Among the patients, 10 are men and 15 women. One is between the ages of 18 and 24; nine are between the ages of 25 and 49; eight are between 50 and 64 and seven are 65 or older.

Statewide, there have been 30,777 coronavirus cases with 684 currently hospitalized.
