No one hurt in Monday afternoon house fire in Manns Harbor

A home on the Dare County mainland was destroyed Monday afternoon in a two-alarm fire.

Crews were called at 4:16 p.m. to the 7100 block of U.S. 64/264, where they found a fully involved single-family dwelling, according to the Manns Harbor Fire Department.

The residents and their pets were able to get out safely on their own.

A second alarm was called, with units from Roanoke Island, Nags Head, Stumpy Point, Kill Devil Hills, Colington and Tyrrell County responding to assist with getting it under control. Dare EMS, the Dare Fire Marshals Office and Dare County Sheriffs Department were also on scene.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
