SW Virginia teen seriously hurt in Corolla crash had been reported missing


A 17-year-old girl from southwest Virginia that had been reported missing was seriously injured in a single vehicle crash Sunday in Corolla.

The wreck happened Sunday afternoon on N.C. 12 in the Ocean Sands section of the Currituck Outer Banks.

Emma Rogers of Bristol, Virginia, was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with serious injuries. An update on her condition was not available.

WVLT News reported Rogers was last seen at her home on Saturday around 6:45 p.m. Police in Virginia said it was initially believed she had traveled to the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee-area. Other details about her disappearance was not provided.
