Over 2,000 people gathered at Dowdy Park in Nags Head Sat., May 7, for a fun-filled day of visual and performing arts at the 33rd Annual Artrageous Kids Art Festival presented by PNC Bank.

In between the live music and dance performances, Dare County Arts Council’s executive director took the stage and announced the 2022 Artrageous scholarship recipients.

“Each year we are honored to award a senior from each Dare County high school with scholarships from the Artrageous Youth Scholarship Fund,” said Dare County Arts Council Executive Director Jessica Sands. “These talented young artists have big dreams and we are happy to support them.”

The 2022 Artrageous scholarship recipients are Hannah Montgomery (First Flight High School), Kirra Folb (Cape Hatteras Secondary School) and Cloey Davis (Manteo High School).

Hannah Montgomery will be attending The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and plans to major in theater with a double minor in dance and English.

“I was surprised to find out that I won the scholarship, and I am so appreciative to Dare County Arts Council for the recognition,” said Montgomery.

Kirra Folb will be attending East Carolina University and plans to major in Fine Arts.

“When I found out that I had won one of the Artrageous scholarships, I was ecstatic,” said Folb. “One of the first people I told was my art teacher, and we were both really happy.”

Cloey Davis will be attending University of North Carolina School of the Arts and plans to major in filmmaking.

Presented by PNC Bank, the Artrageous Kids Art Festival is Dare County’s longest-running kids art program.
