The main parking lot at the Ocean Bay Boulevard Bathhouse in Kill Devil Hills will be closed to the public Thursday morning, June 29, for a press conference. It is anticipated to re-open around noon.
Public parking will still be available at the lot directly across the street or either beach access to the north or south. The sand walkover portion of the access will remain open during the event, but the conference itself will be held at the top of the stairs.
This press conference will involve Ocean Rescue Agencies from Duck to Hatteras, Dare County Emergency Management, Dare County 911, and the National Weather Service (Morehead City) sharing critical beach safety information with our news media partners in an effort to prevent serious injuries or fatalities among beachgoers.
