On Saturday, October 5th, Currituck County is hosting a spectacular 3-in-1 event you won’t want to miss. The day will feature Currituck Planes and Plows, The Currituck Sheriff’s Community Night Out, and Race on the Runway, offering something for everyone.
Race on the Runway kicks off the festivities with a series of runs that cater to all ages and fitness levels. The adrenaline-packed schedule includes:
- Tarmac 10K Race: Starting at 8:30 AM
- First Flight 5K Race: Beginning at 9:00 AM
- Taxi Trot 1-Mile Fun Run: Starting at 10:00 AM
Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun way to get moving, these races provide the perfect start to a day full of adventure and camaraderie.
Following the races, Currituck Planes and Plows opens its gates to the public at 11:00 AM. From then until 5:30 PM, enjoy an array of agricultural and aviation exhibits, interactive displays, contests, music, food trucks, and activities for all ages. Explore the fascinating world of farming and aviation, and get up close with some impressive machinery and aircraft. It’s a day of discovery and learning for the whole family!
As the sun begins to set, The Currituck County Sheriff’s Community Night Out takes over at 5:30 PM. Join us for an evening dedicated to strengthening community ties and promoting public safety. Meet local law enforcement officers, enjoy live entertainment, participate in engaging activities, and relish the sense of community spirit. The evening’s events will continue until dark, creating a memorable conclusion to a day filled with fun and fellowship.
