The Outer Banks topped FishingBooker’s list of NC’s Best Fishing Towns

The world’s largest platform for booking fishing trips, proudly announces the Outer Banks as the best fishing destination in North Carolina for 2024. With several towns in the region earning top spots, the Outer Banks shines as a premier fishing destination.

In addition to the overall recognition of the Outer Banks, the Top 10 fishing towns in North Carolina this year are as follows: 

1. Wanchese – 58 points
2. Manteo- 50 points
3. Hatteras – 47 points
4. Carolina Beach – 44 points
5. Wilmington – 43 points
6. Morehead City – 39 points
7. Nags Head – 39 points
8. Beaufort – 37 points
9. Oak Island – 36 points
10. Atlantic Beach – 36 points

The Outer Banks received impressive scores across several key categories. It particularly stood out in the number of guides with the Angler’s Choice Award,average review score, and the minimum price of a fishing trip, scoring the maximum points in these areas. 

FishingBooker’s rankings are based on six key criteria. Using data collected over the past year from more than 100,000 fishing trips and reviews on our site, we looked at the:

1. Number of available fishing charters
2. Average review score
3. Average recommended score
4. Number of guides with the Angler’s Choice Award
5. Number of bookings
6. Minimum price of a fishing trip

All of the above criteria were taken into account for the past year. For any location to be considered, at least one booking had to have been made there in the past 365 days.
