The Outer Banks Life Recipe of the Week — the first of the new year — is our Lead Content Provider and Social Media Manager Kassidy Watson-Perry’s staple air-fryer chicken.
“In approximately twenty minutes, this recipe delivers a juicy, seasoned chicken breast straight atop your kitchen counter,” says Kassidy. “It’s also perfect for all you dads and uncles out there who were gifted seasoning sets over the holidays to add to your spice rack arsenal!”
The following recipe serves one person:
Ingredients
- 1 6-8oz grilled chicken breast
- Olive oil
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Paprika
- Salt
- Pepper
- Optional: Red onion; Everything Bagel seasoning
Directions
- Marinate your raw chicken breast in a layer of olive oil.
- Sprinkle generously with a combination of garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. (Optional: Top your coat of seasonings with a layer of Everything Bagel seasoning. It’s not just for bagels — those poppy and sesame seeds add an extra crunch!)
- Line your air fryer with parchment paper and place the seasoned chicken breast directly in the center.
- (Optional: Chop an onion of your choice into thick slices and garnish with the chicken breast. The thicker the slices, the better, as the onion packs added flavor during the duration of the cooking process).
- Air fry at 375°F for 18-20 minutes.
- Serve with your choice of starch and vegetable for a well-balanced, nutritious lunch or dinner option!
