The Friends of the Outer Banks History Center and Downtown Books, in collaboration with College of The Albemarle (COA) – Dare and the COA Social Science Department, welcome author and local historian Robin Daniels Holt as the January presenter for the 2025–2026 Speaker Series.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, January 15, at COA – Dare.
Holt is a local history enthusiast, genealogy researcher and self-described keeper of lost things. She has deep roots in the Outer Banks as a ninth-generation member of the Daniels family of Wanchese on Roanoke Island and a twelfth-generation member of the Midgett family from Hatteras Island. Her family history is closely tied to the U.S. Life-Saving Service and the U.S. Coast Guard. Holt was born and raised in Wanchese and lives in her childhood home with her husband, Barry.
Holt is the author of “My Daily Bounded Realm: A Journal of Daily Life in the Outer Banks in 1900,” which she will discuss during her presentation.
The event will take place in Veterans’ Hall (DARA 110) at COA – Dare. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the presentation beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The program is free and open to the public.
