At the heart of the Collective Education Foundation is the mission to foster community and support the small educational programs of Outer Banks Montessori Collective and Wilbur Gardens.
To further the nonprofit’s growth, the Collective Education Foundation is hosting a Spring Equinox Family FUN-draiser at the Outer Banks Brewing Station on Saturday, March 21 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
The Family FUN-draiser will include kid’s games, a raffle to win a week at the Sip Sip Cottage in Eleuthera, Bahamas, kid’s craft activities, a silent auction, and live music. Proceeds from the raffle, silent auction, and kid’s activities will benefit the Collective Education Foundation.
“Events like this one help us spread the word about our little microschools and our vision for the future of education,” said Collective Education Foundation Director and owner of the Outer Banks Montessori Collective Kim Cowen. “But more importantly, they are about bringing people together and showing our kids that their community is invested in them.”
The event will kick off with live music by local musicians Craig Honeycutt, Ed Tupper, and Cre Moore, followed by a performance by the Outer Banks Montessori Collective and Wilbur Gardens students, and then wrap up with more live music by Coty Austin & Friends.
“Our Parent Collective volunteers make events like this possible, and we’re so thankful for the time, energy, and heart they give,” said Collective Education Foundation committee chair Bailey Frumen. “Seeing the smiles and excitement on the kids’ faces makes it all worth it!”
Food and drinks will be available to purchase from the Outer Banks Brewing Station.
The event’s rain date is Saturday, March 28.
