A part of the 24th annual Outer Banks Bike Week running April 18-26, 2026, the U.S. Military Vets Motorcycle Club – Chapter 1 will host its coveted Poker Run on the Saturday kickoff date, April 18. The charity ride aims to raise funds for veteran causes both locally and across the nation, with 100% of the proceeds going directly toward supporting veterans in need.
Participants will travel a scenic “North to South” route through the Outer Banks, collecting cards at various designated stops to compete for the $150 “Best Hand” prize.
The event, which is open to all bikers and the general public, kicks off at Outer Banks Harley-Davidson in Harbinger. Kickstands up (KSU) is scheduled for 11 a.m. The route will run through Hatteras, with an optional “treasure stop” in Ocracoke (See attached flier for details).
This year’s Poker Run will conclude with a finish party at the Sandbar & Grille in Buxton from 2-5 p.m. The party is free and open to all ages, featuring live music by Leslie Buck, a 50/50 drawing, and various raffle prizes. The deadline for the “last bike in” to submit their hand and participate in the raffles is 5 p.m.
Registration for the run is $10 per hand, with additional hands available for $5 each. In the event of inclement weather, a tentative rain date has been set for Sunday, April 19.
