The Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce today announced the appointment of Hunter Walsh as its next President and Chief Executive Officer following a nationwide search.
Walsh will assume the role on April 27th and work with retiring President and CEO Karen Brown until her retirement on May 15th. Walsh comes from a small business background and brings nearly a decade of nonprofit leadership experience and recognition from the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives with a lifetime membership sales achievement award.
“Hunter stood out for his ability to connect business, community, and innovation
in a way that reflects both the heritage and future of the Outer Banks,” said Nick Graham, Chair of the Search Committee. “His experience building partnerships and driving economic impact made him the clear choice to lead the Chamber forward.”
“We are confident in Hunter’s leadership and excited about the vision and energy he brings to this role,” said Melissa Harrison, Chair of the Outer Banks Board of Directors. “He understands the importance of strong local businesses and the role the Chamber plays in supporting long term economic vitality.”
