Celebrate the spirit of competition and inclusion as Special Olympics Dare County prepares for the approaching 2026 OBX Spring Games. The annual event is scheduled for Friday, April 24, at the First Flight High School track located at 100 Veterans Drive in Kill Devil Hills.
The event, which runs until 12 p.m. noon, will feature a variety of athletic milestones, including throwing, jumping, and running events, in addition to a motorcycle parade by the Eagle Riders and performances by the Special Olympics and FFHS Cheer Squads.
The traditional Torch Run will be led by the Knights of Columbus alongside officers from the Kill Devil Hills Police Department, followed by the Parade of Athletes and the official Athlete Pledge.
To ensure a day of celebration for everyone involved, lunch will be provided for all participating athletes, their families, and the volunteers who make the games possible.
