The OBX Rod and Custom Festival returns to the Outer Banks this weekend, May 1-2, featuring a variety of automotive events to support local charities.
Produced by Garage Band Charities, Inc., the two-day festival includes static displays, cruise-ins, and food vendors set against the backdrop of the Outer Banks. While a preview event is scheduled for Thursday, April 30, official festivities begin Friday morning with breakfast cruise-ins at local restaurants.
The main event will be held at Soundside Event Site in Nags Head, where spectators can enjoy free walk-in admission to view the displays.
The weekend’s activities include Show and Shine displays for registered vehicles at various sites such as Soundside Park and Kelly Automotive, along with several cruise-ins across Manteo, Kitty Hawk, and Kill Devil Hills.
Additionally, the festival features a “Wild Card” Poker Run and an “Ice Cream Challenge” designed to raise funds for local non-profit children’s charities.
The event concludes Saturday, May 2, with a closing ceremony and tool box raffle at 4 p.m. at the Soundside Park stage.
