The Beach Food Pantry is asking the community for donations of paper grocery bags to help package and deliver meals to local residents.
According to a social media post by the nonprofit on Wednesday, purchasing a bundle of 500 paper bags costs the organization $100. Representatives stated they would prefer to redirect those funds toward purchasing fresh food for those in need.
Community members with spare, reusable paper grocery bags can drop them off directly at the Beach Food Pantry, located at 4007 N Croatan Highway in Kitty Hawk.
