Are you a runner searching for a unique challenge? Registration is now open for the annual Killer Dunes 2 Mile Run and Color Fun Run, scheduled for Friday, July 3, at Jockey’s Ridge State Park.
The main Killer Dunes event begins at 8 a.m. Participants will run or walk up the tallest natural sand dune on the East Coast. Due to the demanding nature of the course, registration is limited to 350 runners.
Following the main race, a 1-mile Color Fun Run will kick off at 8:15 a.m. This year’s fun run celebrates the 50th anniversary of Jockey’s Ridge State Park.
Proceeds from the event support the Friends of Jockey’s Ridge, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the state park. The event is promoted in conjunction with Outer Banks Sporting Events (OBXSE) and is supported by Dare A250.
