The Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand re-opening of Artsy Octopus under the new ownership of Maria Monds and Don Greer.
Chamber Board Member Sonya Sikes of Island Insurance welcomed Chamber members, board representatives, SPARCs, and local supporters who gathered to celebrate the milestone alongside Monds and Greer before the pair cut the ribbon on their newly reopened shop.
Monds and Greer, who met over a shared love of crafting and married last October, have built Artsy Octopus into a destination for art, gifts, jewelry, and handmade pieces from artists across the region. Beyond its retail offerings, the shop hosts hands-on, beginner-friendly workshops in resin art, mosaics, and other coastal-inspired crafts for all ages. “We’re so excited for this next chapter,” said Maria Monds, co-owner of Artsy Octopus. “We’ve added new workshops, more local artists, and a lot of little touches throughout the shop, and we can’t wait for everyone to come see what we’ve built.”
