Theatre of Dare will hold auditions for its upcoming fall production of Kurt Vonnegut Jr.’s satire Happy Birthday, Wanda June on August 1 and August 2 at 6 p.m.
Directed by Kim Plyler, the dark comedy follows Harold Ryan, a Hemingway-esque big-game hunter who unexpectedly returns home after being missing in the Amazon rain forest for eight years. Upon his return, Ryan discovers that his wife and the world around him have drastically changed in his absence.
Performances will take place September 18, 19, 24, 25, and 26 at 7:30 p.m., with a Saturday matinee September 19 at 1 p.m., and Sunday matinees September 20 and September 27 at 2 p.m.
