The 13th Annual Outer Banks Halloween Parade of Costumes returns to Aviation Park in Kill Devil Hills, NC on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
Founded in 2014, the Outer Banks Halloween Parade of Costumes is the largest all ages Halloween event on the Outer Banks, drawing hundreds of participants and onlookers each year, including registered entries from multiple different states who look forward to planning their visits to Dare County around this free, family-friendly event.
Awards will be given for the Best Costumes in three categories – Age 12 and Under, Age 13 and Over, and Group/Family.
The event also showcases many of the Outer Banks’ nonprofit organizations, who host the trick or treat stations during the trick or treat preparty that precedes the parade, with additional support provided by the Kill Devil Hills Police and Fire Departments.
Halloween Daily News will once again document the entire event, with exclusive parade highlights featured on the HDN YouTube channel and watched by over 80,000 subscribers around the world. The three Best In Show winners will also each be interviewed and photographed by Halloween Daily News for a special feature on the channel.
The 13th Annual Outer Banks Halloween Parade of Costumes on Sunday, October 25 kicks off with the trick or treat preparty and on site parade registration starting at 2:00 p.m., followed by the walking parade itself at 3:00 p.m., and a brief awards ceremony immediately after. Online early registration will open in October.
As always, admission to the event is free and everyone, walking in the Parade or not, is encouraged to wear a costume in the spirit of the Halloween season. Politically themed costumes are not permitted.
Free public parking for Parade participants, spectators, and attendees is available at the neighboring First Flight schools.
