Outer Banks Health is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026-2027 Community Benefit Grants Program. Grants are awarded for 14 projects that will significantly increase access to healthcare and financial resources in our community for over 34,000 individuals in need. Since the program began in 2006, Outer Banks Health has awarded over $2.5 million in grants to community organizations.
Albemarle Development Corporation – Meals on Wheels program provides home delivered meals for residents in Dare and Currituck counties.
Cape Hatteras United Methodist Men – Lift Program supports housebound citizens living in elevated homes by providing essential assistance.
Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County – Promotes youth mental health and expands access to wellness, recreational, and preventionfocused opportunities for children, youth, families, and educators.
Community Care Clinic of Dare – Offers diagnostic and radiological services, specialty and dental referrals, medication assistance, medical supplies, chronic disease prevention and management, and transportation support for low income patients.
Cross Roads OBX Association – Provides emergency and support services for individuals seeking recovery from substance use disorders.
Dare Arts – Expands arts programming for underserved groups and grows the Expressions of Hope & Healing programs for community members affected by cancer, fostering connection, creativity, and personal accomplishment.
DCDHHS – Breaking Through Task Force expands public awareness and education efforts to reduce stigma surrounding behavioral and mental health.
DCDHHS – Breast and OB Programs provide obstetrical ultrasounds and breast cancer screening and diagnostic services for atrisk, underserved women.
Dare County Sheriff’s Office – Provides emotional regulation skills and moral reconation therapy for incarcerated people.
Dare County Transportation – Provides transportation for medical appointments both inside and outside of Dare.
Food for Thought – Provides weekend meal bags, hygiene items, and clothing for children and families experiencing financial stress and food insecurity.
Interfaith Community Outreach, Inc. – Supports access to healthcare, medical transportation, and mental health counseling for individuals facing financial or medical hardship.
NC MedAssist – Provides free pharmacy services, including prescriptions for physical and mental health, shipped directly to patients’ homes.
Outer Banks Relief Foundation – Provides relief funding for families in the Outer Banks facing unexpected crises.
