But beyond the school supplies and first-day photos is an opportunity for our community to help ensure every child begins the year with confidence and support. Here are a couple of ways you can help or volunteer with excellent programs for Dare County Schools!
The Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County works year-round to help children thrive by supporting early learning, family engagement, and school readiness. Volunteers play an important role by assisting with community events, preparing educational activity kits, and helping families access valuable resources. Whether you have a few hours to give or want to become involved on a regular basis, your time can make a lasting impact on a child’s future.
Another inspiring organization is Food for Thought, which provides nutritious weekend meals for students who may not have reliable access to food when school is out. As the school year begins, the need for volunteers and community support remains strong. From packing food bags to making financial contributions, every act of generosity helps ensure that local children return to school each Monday nourished and ready to learn.
