Outer Banks Health is proud to recognize their latest Team Member of the Month, Ty’Anna Kay, for her exceptional dedication and contributions to the emergency department registration team.
Since joining OBH in March 2025, Kay has quickly become an invaluable team member. Known for her integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence, she goes above and beyond to ensure patient information is entered accurately and thoroughly, helping provide the highest level of service to patients and families.
Working in the ED, Kay consistently demonstrates compassion, professionalism, and respect during what can be some of patients’ most difficult moments. Her calm demeanor, positive attitude, and patient-centered approach help create a supportive experience for everyone she serves.
Kay is also recognized for her commitment to learning, teamwork, and safety. She continuously seeks opportunities to grow professionally, shares knowledge with colleagues, and readily assists teammates when needed. Her vigilance and situational awareness recently helped ensure the safety of staff and patients by alerting authorities to concerning behavior following a patient’s discharge.
Colleagues describe Kay as “always ready to learn from others and share information” and “an amazing addition to our ED Registration team.”
“Since joining the organization, Ty’Anna has been an outstanding representative of our ICEAST values,” said her peers. “We are grateful for everything she contributes each day and are proud to have her on our team.”
