Downtown Manteo comes alive this Friday, September 4, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the September edition of First Friday. This free, family-friendly evening brings together live music, gallery openings, extended shopping hours, and local food specials along the waterfront.
Dare Arts will host opening receptions for Judith Saunders’ weaving exhibit and Fresh – The Exhibit featuring 75 plein air artists, along with live courtyard music by Ocracoke duo Brooke & Nick. You’ll also find live music across town from Micah Iverson in The Davis Lot, The Brown Mountain Lightning Bugs at Magnolia Pavilion, The Conch Shells at Poor Richard’s, The Bar Cats Duo at NouVines, Stephen Brown Band at Old Tom’s, and DJ Lady Lux at Lost Colony Tavern.
During the First Friday Manteo Stroll from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., downtown shops and restaurants will stay open late with specials, sales, and live events. Highlights include an author book signing at Downtown Books, a vendor market at Pioneer Theater, s ales, free samples, and local food and drink deals.
