The Town of Southern Shores and the Southern Shores Civic Association invite local residents and property owners to a community block party at the Hillcrest Drive Beach Access on Sunday, September 20, from 3 to 7 p.m. The afternoon event offers a full lineup of family-friendly activities, live music, food trucks, craft vendors, beach games, a cornhole tournament, and a volleyball competition.
Local bakers can also put their culinary skills to the test in the Southern Shores Block Party Pie Bakeoff. To enter the competition, interested participants can email info@southernshores-nc.gov.
Organizers encourage attendees to bring beach chairs and connect with neighbors. Due to limited vehicle parking at the Hillcrest access, attendees are encouraged to walk, bike, or carpool to the event.
Volunteers are also needed to assist during the block party, with sign-up details available through the Town of Southern Shores.
