Friends of Jockey’s Ridge will host its annual “Shuck For The Ridge” fundraising event at 2 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, October 3, at Jockey’s Ridge State Park. Proceeds from the event directly support the nonprofit organization’s ongoing mission to preserve, protect, and promote the natural resources and educational activities at the park.
Attendees will enjoy oysters supplied by Cousins’ Oysters, featuring a complete raw bar with pickled toppings, sauces, and condiments, as well as signature char-grilled oysters and a steamer station. Barbecue, traditional sides, beer, and other beverages will also be served.
Tickets are available for $80 per person and include the full all-you-can-eat full experience.
In addition to food and drinks, the afternoon will feature live musical performance by Birddog and a silent auction featuring premium local experiences. Auction items include Kitty Hawk Kites hang gliding lessons, charter fishing trips, spa gift certificates, and original artwork. Attendees can also participate in “Aw Shucks,” an interactive educational workshop led by Park Ranger Austin where participants transform recycled oyster shells into decoupage holiday ornaments and gifts.
Tickets must be purchased in advance online through Friends of Jockey’s Ridge at friendsofjockeysridge.org/shuck-for-the-ridge.
