The Town of Duck has announced that they will be creating a documentary about the winged horse statues that exist along the Outer Banks.

“This has been a very exciting project that will preserve a piece of Outer Banks history for years to come,” states the Town who is now in need of the public’s assistance in creating the film. “Storytelling is a big piece of this documentary as we strive to recount the Winged Horse Extravaganza project’s past and present.”

If you have firsthand experience or direct ties to a winged horse statue, whether it be as someone who purchased a horse from the original fundraiser in 2002, someone who painted a horse, or someone who was involved in the project, the Town of Duck would like for you to be part of the documentary.

If you are interested in being interviewed, please compete the interview form. The Town cannot guarantee that everyone will be interviewed, but we encourage anyone who is interested to share your firsthand story/ experience. Click here to access the form via Google Docs.

If you have any questions about the project, you are encouraged to contact Kay Nickens at knickens@townofduck.com, or by calling 252-255-5954.
