Lee Foster joined 99.1 The Sound in January 2020 right before the world started ending, and we’re not entirely convinced that it’s a coincidence. Lee’s story is much like many others who discovered the Outer Banks and instantly fell in love. He grew up just over the border in Chesapeake, VA, and spent seemingly every weekend of his formative years here. He always thought to himself about how wonderful it would be to live here “for real.” After working in radio for over ten years at a handful of different stations in Hampton Roads, the opportunity to live and work on the Outer Banks presented itself to him, and he took it. Aside from that, he’s an avid baseball fan who believes there ought to be a Constitutional Amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter, and you can hear him playing World Class Rock every weekday morning from 6 ‘til 10 on 99.1 The Sound.
Doug Dino is from Fayetteville, NC and has been living and working on the Outer Banks since 1989. He came to the Outer Banks to be the sound engineer for The Lost Colony Outdoor Drama, and has also worked at Roanoke Island Festival Park as Museum Technician for the Theater Spaces, and as Historical Interpreter. He started working on 99.1 the Sound in 1992 as host of the popular Sunday Morning Classics classical music show, but has since been host of every daypart on the station. Doug is also a musician, with a degree in Music from Pembroke State University and can be heard performing with bands throughout the season on the Outer Banks.
Lisa Brickhouse has over 30 years of experience in the field of voiceover and broadcasting. She first cracked the mic at East Carolina University way back in 1989. Lisa has always loved music and truly believes that “Music makes the world go round.” Besides being a DJ on 99.1 The Sound since 2003, Lisa has her own voiceover company “LBD Voiceworks,” where she flexes her vocal muscles on anything from radio & TV commercials to instructional and motivational videos, podcasts, audiobooks, company directories, and station imaging. Lisa always jokes that when she was a kid her Daddy and his friends used to pay her not to talk. Now she loves the fact that she gets paid to talk and she loves using her voice for the good of others. In her spare time, Lisa volunteers for several nonprofit organizations along with being the creator and organizer of the annual Dare2Care OBX Shred Fest!
Join Doug Dino as he takes a trip in the time machine and plays 10 songs, all from a different year. Take a trip down memory lane, learn the history behind the music, and much more every Saturday morning at 10 AM, with a special replay Saturday nights at 10 PM.
