Christian Benedi

Calling the Outer Banks Home for the better part of his adult life, Christian came to the beach one summer to work while in college, and basically never left. A self-proclaimed, “nice, fun at a party” kinda guy, he always has a radio on and continues to be a treasure trove of mostly useless, yet somehow useful knowledge.  Recently welcoming a daughter into the world with his girlfriend Amanda, 2020 has been full of surprises. You can catch him as a performing musician around town, too!

Weekdays 2-7 PM
Saturdays 10 AM-3 PM

Lisa Brickhouse

Lisa Brickhouse has over 30 years of experience in the field of voiceover and broadcasting. She first cracked the mic at East Carolina University way back in 1989.  Lisa has always loved music and truly believes that “Music makes the world go round.” Besides being a DJ on 99.1 The Sound since 2003, Lisa has her own voiceover company “LBD Voiceworks,” where she flexes her vocal muscles on anything from radio & TV commercials to instructional and motivational videos, podcasts, audiobooks, company directories, and station imaging. Lisa always jokes that when she was a kid her Daddy and his friends used to pay her not to talk. Now she loves the fact that she gets paid to talk and she loves using her voice for the good of others.  In her spare time, Lisa volunteers for several nonprofit organizations along with being the creator and organizer of the annual Dare2Care OBX Shred Fest!

Each week, listeners around the globe tune in to Acoustic Café to hear the latest from today’s great songwriting talents. It’s hard to put a definitive label on Acoustic Café’s music selections. After all, a good song is a good song… any individual set of music could contain a bit of country, rock, blues, folk, pop… and more! In addition to classic songwriters (oh, you know who they are…), Acoustic Café wants to bring as many newer talents to the table as possible. That’s the best description we can conjure… now, hear this week’s program by clicking here! Also, you can hear a few years’ worth of our interviews and performances by visiting the archives here. Enjoy.
