Dare County Health and Human Services on Monday reported seven new coronavirus cases for a total of 56 since testing began in March.
The latest cases include:
- Male Non-resident 17 – years of age, transferred isolation to home county
- Female Resident 50-64 years of age, home isolation
- Female Non-resident 50-64 years of age, isolating in Dare
- Male Non-resident 17 – years of age, isolating in Dare
- Male Non-resident 50-64 years of age, isolating in Dare
- Female Non-resident 50-64 years of age, isolating in Dare
- Female Non-resident 17 – years of age, transferred isolation to home county
The latest cases follow five new positives over the weekend.
Since Dare County reopened to visitors on May 16, the county has seen on average 150,000 to 200,000 new visitors each week, county officials said.
Dare County’s face mask mandate went into effect on Sunday morning. Dare County Board of Commissioners Chairman Bob Woodard said in a video update Monday that the requirement followed requests from businesses and non-compliance with voluntary mask-wearing.
